New Resource for Lozoya Genealogy Research and Records

A new resource rich in information for the Lozoya / Losoya family.

Recent communication with a distant relative has led me to discover a new resource for uncovering records of Baptism, marriage  and Death certificates. The document database is maintained by Family Search and is free at this time (http://pilot.familysearch.org) . This database has many actual scanned records and many documents with useful information. I discovered about 3 generations of additional information in a few days that would of otherwise taken many years and a lot of travel to find.

Most baptism records I found are from families that come from Mexico. There was rarely  records of Mexican births in the 1800’s and the only documented record of birth was the baptism record filed at the nearest church. The death certificates I researched mostly come from Texas and have great information for the Lozoya family. Parent names, children, marriage, etc. are recorded on death certificates and make it an easy way to link up family names.
